86-year-old Man Finds Confidence Through Toastmasters
By:

DULUTH - Toastmasters is an organization aimed at helping people improve their confidence through public speaking, but for one 86-year-old man it's helped change his life.
Frank Antilla is the first Toastmaster winner to represent this area and compete in the division contest.
The winner would then go on to compete at the International level.
Antilla grew up afraid of public speaking and only through toastmasters found the confidence to speak and demonstrate in front of audiences.
"There's a lot of people that go through their lives inhibited by this or that and if they would come down to Toastmasters, they might turn their lives around," says Antilla.
Antilla says the hardest thing he's done was go back to school and get a four year degree at UMD when he was 50-years-old.
