Scientists Collaborate on St. Louis River
By:
SUPERIOR- Hundreds of people got together on Tuesday for the 4th annual St. Louis River Estuary Summit at UWS.
Natural and social science researchers presented their findings along with state and federal leaders.
They talked about different ways to understand areas of concern for the St. Louis River.
Representatives from NOAA just designated the estuary a national focus area.
Erika Washburn with the Lake Superior NERR said, "So this started a few years ago, mostly because there is so much collaboration here and such activity happening on this landscape on this river and within the watershed.
We needed to have a way of gathering everybody, talking about what's going on."
Middle and high school students along with college students will present on Wednesday.
All are welcome.
