DULUTH, Minn. - The Duluth City Council voted to revoke the license at Duluth’s Methadone Clinic Monday.
This comes after numerous violations at the Lake Superior Treatment Center on Central Entrance.
Councilor Linda Krug explained during the council discussion, “They do a disservice to their clients and a disservice to the city.”
While councilor Jay Fosle argued the clinic is a source for many struggling with addiction in the Twin Ports.
Most of the council agreed their decision to revoke the license sends a strong message to the clinic, and agreed treatment centers should not be profit-driven.
The council will write up a letter and send it to the Department of Human Services for further review.
