SUPERIOR, Wis. – Big changes are in store for UWS with budget cuts looming.Wednesday, university leaders spoke about some of the cuts they will be making.Chancellor Renee Wachter said the UW–Superior campus plans to move forward with the Service Solutions Company in regards to custodial and grounds services. The change could save the campus up to $2.5 million over the five year contract. The employee cuts are being made as the school is looking to identify $4.5 million in budget reduction and revenue growth."Twenty-seven employees were notified back in May. They received at risk letters, indicating that their jobs were at risk or could be changed," said Chancellor Wachter.Cuts are being made to show that UWS is a fiscally responsible institution and the school plans to prioritize resources in a way that is best for students and the community, according to Chancellor Wachter. The formal transition will take place at the beginning of next year.
