Superior- Duluth's homeless community is rising at an alarming rate and
businesses are making a statement in hopes to reduce those numbers.
It's called a “Night Without a Home.”
It's the 8th annual sleep outside benefit which
is a coalition of various groups to help serve the homeless population.
Groups such as CASDA, Solid Rock and the Salvation Army will
be sleeping outside tonight as well as collecting food, clothing and money to
help raise awareness of the homeless situation in Duluth.
Tom Wondolkowski, coordinator of the evnt, stated, “For me,
this is the most meaningful thing I have ever done. I've never been homeless myself and I can't
imagine how terrible it must be to be on the street. I know what my face feels
like the next day from being in the wind all day.”
The event will continue through tomorrow at 12.
