SUPERIOR - The City of Superior is reminding you to recycle and reduce your trash use as the landfill near capacity. The landfill accepts up to 15,000 tons of waste every month from Superior, Duluth and surrounding areas.City officials say there is only room for about eight more years of trash before it's full."The more recyclables that go in here, the less room there is for waste and more landfills we have to have. So, it's really important to keep that stuff at and reuse it somehow," explained Darienne McMamara, an environmentalist with the City of Superior. The landfill opened in the mid-1970s on Moccasin Mike Road.
