DULUTH - Locals met up for a ride on west Duluth streets. They learned about bike inspections and safety along with the rules of the road.
Afterwards they actually practiced what they've learned on a short bike ride.
Organizers say with bicycling growing in Duluth they want to decrease confusion and promote safe riding.
"Bicyclist don't' always know what they should be doing on the road,” 'YMCA and Healthy Duluth Area Coalition Active Transportation Coordinator Shawna MullenEardley said. “People get confused about who has the right of way or where bikes should be and where cars should be and so some education is always good."
The bicycle rides take place every third Sunday of the month from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m..
