Man Walking Across MN to Help End Hunger
By:
DULUTH- One man is single handedly doing what he can to raise money for a good cause.
62 year old, Gary Fitch is walking 300 miles to raise money for an endowment that will supply food shelves across Minnesota.
Fitch began his journey in International Falls and is headed, on foot to St. Paul.
He's walking about 10 miles per day, and has already walked 157 miles.
Fitch passed through Duluth this morning.
Fitch said "I've got three goals. First I want to help the food shelves that can't afford to buy food. Then I want to help the ones that are having trouble and lastly the ones that aren't."
Fitch is asking people to donate a penny for each of the 5000 steps he takes.
That adds up to $3 dollars per person.
Fitch plans to take his final step at the Minnesota State Fair on Labor Day.
