DULUTH - Duluthians celebrated the history and memories of the Chester Park ski jump before it is demolished.
Live music, old pictures of the jump and former ski jumpers were all there for the event Tuesday.
It was a chance for people to reflect on what the structure has offered the community all these years.
"Yes it's sad that we're going to be losing a piece of this history, but I'm really looking forward to working with the community to come up with and opportunity or a way to commemorate the wonderful things that have happened here over the years," said Paula Reed, community relations officer with the City of Duluth.
The jump will be demolished in about two weeks.
The city plans to replace it with a new ski run.
