DULUTH - Zoo staff, community and city leaders celebrated the more than half a million dollar makeover on the park's 85-year-old pavilion. A repaired roof, windows, bathroom and a kitchenette were added, making it a three season venue for educational programming, parties and special events.
"This is the beginning of the resurgence of our zoo,” Lake Superior Zoological Society Board President John Scott said. “We’re very excited about the opportunities that have been afforded us in the new direction for our St. Louis County, St. Louis River corridor."
The project was made possible through donations, local and state funding.
