Duluth Firefighters Test Their Skills

DULUTH - Duluth Firefighters spent hours battling flames this morning. But luckily, it was all for practice to refine their skills.

At a burning house on Sundby Road, crews had to develop a plan, locate the fire inside the home and then put it out.

The training also gave firefighters a chance to practice using their new nozzles purchased with a grant.

"It's actually a really a great opportunity. It's a win win all around,” Duluth Fire Department Captain Mike Consie said. “We get skills practice and we're also getting practice on our new nozzles and training people on them."

The house was donated to the fire department by Premier Bank.
