Minnesota State Fair Announces 28 New Foods for 2014
FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. (AP) - Twenty-eight new foods and six new food vendors will debut at the 2014 Minnesota State Fair, offering everything from deep fried delights on a stick to even some healthy offerings.
Some new foods include: bacon-wrapped turkey legs, beer gelato, bison dogs, Caribbean-style lobster rolls, chocolate desert salami, deep fried breakfast on a stick, Iron Range pierogies, Jello salad ice cream, JonnyPops, Korean barbecued pork collars with kimchi, pizza tots, pretzel curds, schnitzel strips, SnoRibbons and walleye mac and cheese.
New vendors include The Blue Barn, a farm-to-table eatery; LuLu's Public House with the fair's first rooftop patio, overlooking the Midway; and two ice cream stands, Pat's Place and the West End Creamery.
The Minnesota State Fair runs from Aug. 21 through Labor Day, Sept. 1.
