DULUTH - History was made at Grandma's Marathon 2014!
For the first time in 33 years, the men's course record was broken!
Dick Beardsley, the previous record holder, was one of the first to congratulate the new champion.
Record numbers were recorded in the half marathon and the 5K, plus higher attendance than last year in the full marathon.
More than 18,000 participated in the races, and between 50,000 and 60,000 people attended Grandma's.
Bob Gustafson with Grandma's Marathon explained, "The runners are the reason people come here. The races are the reason they come here but it's also the celebration and the party."
The tents in Canal Park were filled with people on Saturday enjoying live music.
