Police To Drivers: Some Licence Plate Covers Are Illegal

DULUTH - It's something that's probably never really crossed your mind, but police want to remind you that some license plate frames are illegal.

You can't cover any part of the plate on the front or back of your vehicle.

"If you can't see your plate or your year or your month stickers,” Duluth Police Chief Gordon Ramsay said explaining the law. “You can't cover that stuff up."

The fine is in the ballpark of $100.
