DULUTH - The city's biggest book sale is now underway.
The 35th annual book sale at the downtown Duluth Public Library kicked off Tuesday.
Tuesday it is open to members of Friends of the Duluth Public Library only, and to the general public starting Wednesday. Memberships can be purchases or renewed at the door, however.
A grocery bag full of books can be purchased at the sale for only $4.00.
"People who like to read look forward to this sale every year and of course where can you get and where can you get bags of books for as cheap as they have them here at the library?" volunteer Gail Bosiacki said.
The first sale in 1980 raised about $3,600.
This year organizers are aiming for $26,000.
Funds help with the purchase of resources and equipment at the library.
