DULUTH - Animal Allies hit a big milestone Saturday. They're celebrating five years in Duluth.
They held an open house with special adoption prices, free ice cream and root beer and door prizes to honor the many accomplishments they've achieved in the last five years.
In the past five years, more than 10,000 animals have been adopted from Animal Allies and they've spayed and nuetered more than 30,000 animals in the community.
They tell us they're most proud of the number "zero" because that means they've never euthanized any healthy, treatable cat or dog.
"Just a lot of support in the community and we're so grateful because it isn't easy to have zero. It's very costly and it's very hard, but we're really proud of that number," said Animal Allies Executive Director Rick Sailstad.
Animal Allies is hosting the annual Walk for Animals June 7th at Bayfront Park.
