SUPERIOR - A team is now forming to restore the St. Croix River Watershed.
Back in 2009, a study of the watershed showed the area needs more preservation and improvements.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has asked the University of Wisconsin Superior and Douglas and Bayfield counties to work toward educating nearby homeowners about the wetlands, and how to keep them in good shape.
"I think one of the most important components of this is that individualized factor of teaching people what they can do and how they can make a difference," said program coordinator, Carrie Sanda.
Funding for the project is coming from the Wisconsin DNR and will last for two years.
