Voyageurs Area Council Gives Highest Honor

DULUTH- Saturday the Voyageurs Area Council honored the hundreds of volunteers it takes to keep the scouts going.
The council honored three of the top volunteers with the Silver Beaver award.

Scout executive, David Nolle said, "It can be extended period of time and the significant reach. But obviously those that go above and beyond just being a den leader or a cub master for a year or two."

The council says it's really important to be able to keep the scouts going, because it provides a positive outlet and guidance for young men.

The Boy Scouts have been operating for 104 years, largely due to its volunteers.
