American Cancer Society Hosts 'Relay for Life' Kickoff Event

DULUTH - Inspiration is brewing for an event that celebrates and remembers people who have fought against cancer.
The American Cancer Society's Relay for Life event season kicked off Monday for people to learn more about the cause and how to sign up.
The event consists of a relay-style walk around a track while raising money for cancer research and support systems.
"It's a great time, it's an inspiring night, it's full of events, full of people there for the same cause and it really brings the community together," said Sara Mowchan, relay specialist with the American Cancer Society.
Duluth's Relay for Life kicks off at The College of St. Scholastica July 18.
This year, the event will take place in nearly 6,000 communities across the United States and 20 other countries around the world.
