Concert Raises Awareness for Domestic Violence

DULUTH - Women from around the state sang their hearts out today all for a good cause.
St. Scholastica, the University of Northwester - St. Paul, and the College of St. Benedict sang today to raise awareness for domestic violence.
The colleges paired with Safe Haven for the event.
'The goal was to educate attendees, so people would know what to do if caught in a bad situation.
"It really takes a whole community, like the people who are coming here today to speak out about it. When you notice it either in your own relationship or in a friend's relationship, to know that there are places for them to go and people to talk to about it," said Sarah Beyer, the Community Education Coordinator for Safe Haven.
There were also educational pieces about domestic violence and a survivor told her story.
