Group Hosts Talk to Push For Marijuana Legalization
By:

DULUTH- Minnesota Norml is hoping that law makers will legalize marijuana for adults to responsibly use and remove penalties for use.
They say it is not about recreation, it's about social justice.
Speaker, Marcus Harcus said, "we in the United States represent five percent of the world's population. The global human population, but we have 25 percent of the world's prisoners. We have a terrible system of mass incarceration here, and it's mostly locking up people for non–violent drug offenses and the majority are for just possession."
Minnesota Norml says blacks are 8 times more likely to be arrested for possession than whites and said studies show there is no higher usage rate in blacks versus whites.
Minnesota Norml will be holding a rally at the Capital rotunda on April 23 to continue to seek legislative change.
