Construction to Start on New Lincoln Park Apartments

DULUTH - More than half of the vacant Lincoln Park Elementary School is getting prepped to be flipped into an apartment complex.
A portion of the building will house 50 affordable one, two and three bedroom units.
The remainder of the site is being rented out by community organizations that serve the needs of the neighborhood and future tenants.
"The nature of the project was to bring everybody together and have the services right there,” Sherman Associates Commercial Real Estate manager Kathy Marinac said. “So that it's easy and it’s efficient for everybody to be all in one building."
The site is being prepped now.
Construction will start mid-May.
Developers expect it to be complete by spring 2015.
