DULUTH-The Duluth Police Department is checking up on local landlords.
They say each rental property needs to have a visible sign with either the owner or manager's name and contact information. That way, if there's an issue overnight, like a broken water main, gas main, or other safety concerns, someone in charge can be reached at all times.
Lt. Eric Rish said, "What our goal is, is to have property managers manage properties, not city manage properties."
Duluth has about 6,400 rental licenses.
Department interns will start checking rentals next Tuesday.
