Organizers Prepare Fundraiser for Foxes' Home
By:
DULUTH - Organizers are gearing up for a fundraiser to help raise money for a new home for the Lake Superior Zoo's foxes.
At the Zoo La La fundraiser, visitors will enjoy dinner, a program, and have the chance to bid on more than 100 silent auction items.
All funds will go towards the Lake Superior Zoo.
The zoo hopes to raise $12,000 to build a new exhibit for their silver phase red foxes who lost their home during the 2012 flood.
"We're not able to put them back in the exhibit that they were in before because we don't want to put them in harms way,” said Kim Matteen, director of marketing for the Lake Superior Zoo. “So we need to build a whole new exhibit for these guys."
The event is happening Feb. 8 at the Greysolon Ballroom.
The silent auction starts at 5:30 p.m. and tickets are available at the door.
