DULUTH - The University of Minnesota-Duluth student recovering from frostbite injuries is settling in closer to home.
Alyssa Lommel is now healing at a hospital in St. Cloud.
Family wrote on her CaringBridge site, the transition was smooth, but they miss the nursing staff at Regions Hospital in St. Paul.
Her family stopped at home and Lommel was able to visit with her dog Rocky before heading to the hospital.
The family plans on Lommel staying in St. Cloud for up to 10 days, but she said she thinks she can power through five days.
Within the past month, doctors amputated all of her toes and fingers.
