CLOQUET, Minn. - Depending upon where you live in Cloquet, you may have had some canvassers knock on your door Saturday afternoon. Their goal: to solicit your vote for the upcoming school referendum. Canvass organizers told us there will be two questions on the ballot. The referendum would allow the district to levy funds for the construction of a new middle school and make repairs and improvements at the high school and elementary school. The funds would also be put towards the construction of a new 800 seat auditorium. So, what kind of tax impact could the referendum have on your wallet? “The average home value in Cloquet is right around $130–thousand dollars. With that average home price we're looking at about a $10-$11 increase per month,” said Jeff Leno, Vote Yes Canvassing Chair. The vote will take place February 10th at the National Guard Armory in Cloquet.
