DULUTH, Minn. - As the Duluth Edison Charter Schools looks to expand, it has its eyes on a popular and controversial piece of property -- the Snowflake Nordic Ski Center.More than 1,300 kids are part of the school’s K-8th grade curriculum.School officials say they’d like to create a campus feel by adding a high school near their Northstar location, which nudges up next to Snowflake.Officials said they are seriously considering the addition, as it’s something parents and faculty have requested."What the (Edison) board is challenged with is to make sure it's the best decision for our school. We don't want any growth to take away from our programming,” explained Crystal Palmer, Edison School Board’s President. The school board is set to vote on whether to push forward with constructing a high school on Feb 10.After that decision is finalized, it will discussed where the new building would be located.
