DULUTH, Minn. - Talk about a dream come true for a Northland 5-year-old battling a brain tumor. The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Minnesota, along with the Minnesota Ballet, surprised Ava Hirschoff at the Miller Hill Mall’s Build a Bear Workshop.
Ava was greeted with a stuffed giraffe dressed in a pink tutu and ballet slippers.
The young girl's wish to take ballet lessons was granted. "Something this sweet and so simple is almost extra special because she can keep it with her for the rest of her life. She is starting ballet lessons for the first time tomorrow. We could see her still dancing in 25–years, you never know,” said Make-A-Wish Minnesota coordinator Trina Sletto.
Ava will get free lessons for the next year.
