Woman Fatally Stabbed Inside Super One; Suspect Arrested
By:
WEST DULUTH – A male suspect was in the St. Louis County Jail Thursday night after a fatal stabbing inside Super One in West Duluth, according to Duluth Police Deputy Chief Mike Tusken.
Multiple officers responded to the crime scene at the grocery store on the 5300 block of Bristol Street around 7:55 p.m.
The suspect was quickly arrested and taken into custody, according to Duluth Police Public Information Officer Ron Tinsley.
The female victim was taken away by ambulance and later pronounced dead, according to Tusken.
Cory Anderson was shopping at Super One when the stabbing happened, and he explained on Facebook what he witnessed:
"I was getting food there, I heard some yelling and I heard the word knife, I saw a bunch of the employees running in one direction, and then I saw a guy get tackled at the end of the aisle that I was in, and heard a knife clatter to the floor. I wasn't sure what was going on yet, so I grabbed the rest of my food, but when I went to the freezer section, I looked over and saw a lady lying in a pool of blood, and a bunch of rescue workers just standing around not touching her and she was just laying there, so I was pretty sure she was dead. I paid for my stuff and got the hell out."
The Duluth Police Department will be releasing more details about this crime on Friday.
