ELY, Minn. - A new public library opened that is expected to help contribute to the economic growth in downtown Ely.The new building has more space, accessibility and natural light.Rachel Heinrich, library director, said, "We have two walls that are pretty much banks of windows. There are spaces in between for art work, there is a lot of natural light."The director welcomes everyone to come in and enjoy the new facility.The library cost $1.5 million to build.The building is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday.
