DULUTH- A northland group is making a big dent in the fight against food shortages...
Kids against hunger raised 15 thousand dollars to pack 75 thousand meals to help feed kids all over the world.
Cindee Johnson said, "with the typhoon in the Philippines a lot of the meals that we're packing today will go to the Philippines, that they still have a need there. So you want to do something and this is a real tangible way to do it. It's a small amount of time spent but with great benefits."
Over 300 people showed up at the Salem Covenant church to pack the meals.
Johnson said it took the group six months to raise all the funds for the meals.
They haven't committed to doing it again next year, but she said she wouldn't be surprised if they did.
