DULUTH - With the holiday approaching, Duluth police are putting out a warning to help homeowners from becoming a victim of crime.
Police say about 40 percent of burglaries don't involve forcible entry and crimes of opportunity.
About 43 million Americans will drive 50 miles or more to celebrate with family and friends.
Officials say 51 percent of burglars check for cars in driveways before committing the crime.
"Lock your doors lock your car doors its simple, but it's often times the most effective to prevent burglary", said Officer Matt Nevanen, with the Duluth Police Department.
