Officer Involved in Fatal Ashland County Crash

ASHLAND, Wis. – On November 24, 2014 at approximately 10:55 a.m. the Ashland County 9-1-1 Center received calls reporting a head on crash involving two vehicles on Highway 2 at Kagerville Road.
The callers indicated one of the vehicles involved was a squad car.
The Ashland County Sheriff and Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to the scene along with the Bad River Fire and Ashland Fire Departments.
The squad car involved in the crash was from the Bad River Police Department.
The officer was taken to the Memorial Medical Center.
The other motor vehicle involved had two occupants.
The driver was taken to a hospital in Duluth for advanced medical care.
The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.
A Wisconsin State Patrol crash reconstruction specialist was dispatched to the scene to investigate the incident.
The names of the individuals involved are being withheld pending the notification of their families.
