SUPERIOR - A fundraiser kicked off this weekend to raise money for two local kids who lost their father to a hunting accident.
Locals gathered at Norms in Superior to raise money for the Garrett Carr Ice Fishing Memorial Tournament.
Funds from the event will go towards putting on the tournament, hunting safety and Garrett’s children.
"He left behind 2 young kids now they're 2 and 5,” said Craig Sutherland with the Garrett Carr Ice Fishing Memorial Tournament. “We're securing their future, he would have done that but now he's not able to."
Friends describe Garrett as fun.
He was accidently shot in 2012 while deer hunting.
