SUPERIOR, Wis. - Plans for a large ice sculpture on Barkers Island in Superior took a big step forward Friday.
Ice man Roger Hanson has built several massive ice sculptures in his hometown of Big Lake, Minn., but he decided to have a change of scenery."It's a new adventure, it's away from home," Hanson said. "It's big time commercial event here."
Hanson raised one of the two poles that will stabilize the sculpture.
Once the poles are lifted and secured, Hanson will put in a spray tower to form the sculpture.
He plans on having the masterpiece completed in January.
