DULUTH - Students and families got the unique chance to learn about different jobs and cultures Thursday.
It was the 16th Annual Steps to the Future Powwow at Myers-Wilkins Elementary.
It’s a chance to celebrate not only teachers, but community educators outside the classroom.
Students also got the chance to have a traditional Ojibwe feast and learn about traditional powwows.
"Just having a chance to get together, build some new relationships, and learn a little bit new,” said executive director of the Myers-Wilkins Collaborative, Jen Eddy. “Also for students to explore some different career options and get excited about their future."
About 500 people attended Thursday’s event and they're already starting to plan for next year.
