VIRGINIA - A 22-year-old Barnum man is in custody after authorities said he took them on an eight and a half mile vehicle chase.
It all started when a man called 911 reporting his car was stolen after he was threatened with a knife around 3:40 p.m. near Hwy. 169 and Fireweed Rd.
St. Louis County Sheriff's deputies located the car on Hwy. 53 in Virginia.
The suspect then proceeded to take them on a high-speed chase that ended on Hwy. 97 just south of Gilbert when the suspect stopped abruptly and attempted to run from authorities on foot.
The suspect was arrested a short distance from the vehicle.
No one was injured and charges are pending.
