14 year old Accused of Killing Father to be Tried as an Adult in Ashland
ASHLAND - A 14 year old will be tried as an adult for a fatal stabbing last December in Ashland.
Prosecutors say Joseph Ackley killed 52-year-old William Saari and tried to kill his mother and a police officer.
The criminal complaint says the boy decided to kill his parents after they wouldn't let him go out with his girlfriend.
So he thought he'd shoot them and leave the state without anyone knowing.
After shooting his dad with a rifle, he's accused of shooting his mother and fighting her with a knife before she called for help.
When police got there he shot the officer and was arrested.
He's charged with one count of first degree intentional homicide and two counts of attempted 1st degree intentional homicide.
He'll be arraigned on November 6th at noon.
