Superior Man Sentenced for Biting Child Repeatedly

SUPERIOR - A Superior man who police say repeatedly bit his three–month–old son has pleaded guilty to battery.
Twenty-four year old Byron Benson had been facing a charge of physical abuse of a child.

Court documents say Benson was watching his son when the boy woke up from a nap crying.

That's when Benson says at one point he blacked out for about five minutes and woke up to see bite marks on his body.

Benson says he broke down crying, apologized to his son and cried so hard he passed out.

Doctors later determined the baby had been bitten 11 times.

He'll spend 12 days in jail and serve two years of probation.
