CASDA Kicks Off Domestic Violence Awareness Month

SUPERIOR - Superior is taking the lead for the start of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

The Center Against Sexual and Domestic Violence is the go-to organization in Superior that provides services to people hurt by domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse.

Mayor Bruce Hagen and Police Chief Charles LaGesse were on hand to kick off the awareness month.

"It is a national issue that needs to be dealt with, and so I thank you for being here for the awareness day and I hope a generation from now we can say it's better. It needs to be," said Superior Police Chief Charles LaGesse.

Last year, Superior police got more than 300 domestic violence calls.
