Group Seeking Support for New Chalet

DULUTH - Community members are trying to open up a new chalet on 2940 Seven Bridges Road inside a building that used to house a hockey arena. The Lester-Amity Chalet would be used as a year round community building for skiers, hikers, bikers and different organizations.
Project coordinators held an open house to gain more support for the chalet.
They say they need about $10,000 dollars for repairs to get it open this year.
"We will take any in kind donations, we will take monetary donations,” Friends of the Lester-Amity Chalet member Beth Foudriat said. “Then anything that people are willing to volunteer for cleaning it out, for doing other work for it, to staffing the building when we open it up."
