SUPERIOR - A new animal shelter is on its way to Superior.
The Superior City Council unanimously passed a construction plan Tuesday evening to spend nearly $2 million on a brand new shelter.
The construction crew manning the project is Four Star Construction.
The shelter will be 8,600 square feet and located at Bear Creek Park on Superior's east end.
The hope is to get the outside structure done before winter.
Then, crews will be able to complete the inside while it’s cold.
A possible opening is set for this spring.
Superior’s shelter is currently being run by the Douglas County Humane Society.
