Superior Murder Suspect Released Days Before Trial

SUPERIOR - A Superior murder case has taken an interesting twist after the suspect was released days before his trial.

Tiawan Johnson is accused of murdering Toriano Cooper two years ago.

Johnson pleaded not-guilty and ordered a speedy trial which by law has to start within 90 days.

While in jail the district attorney says Johnson confessed to inmates, which led to additional evidence that needs to be analyzed.

The DA chose to delay the speedy trial, so Johnson was released through a signature bond.

He's due in court February 4, 2014.
