SUPERIOR - UW-Superior has moved forward with the process to possibly outsource custodial and grounds services.
Right now, those services are up for outside bid.
A UWS spokesperson told FOX 21 Tuesday that in four weeks those bids will be evaluated to see whether an outside contract would be cost effective or if the current model should stay or if there should be a mix of both.
UWS' chancellor is working to make $4.5 million in budget cuts to deal with a changing demographic at the college, along with less funding from the state and bad budgeting from previous years.
Custodial and grounds workers are a piece of that budget evaluation and has gotten the most media attention because workers have staged protests outside the campus.
