Gov. Walker Visits Superior

SUPERIOR - The governor toured inside Superior's Lidgerwood Mundy manufacturing company talking to staff about their operations, technology and moving into the future. Governor Scott Walker says under his leadership manufacturing jobs have grown in the last four years. Walker also says he is doing even more to create future employment with the manufacturing production tax credit and initiating more grants to provide industrial training."In the next 5–10 years there's gonna be a lot of retirements, we wanna make sure we're ahead of the curve here and across the state," said Walker. "Making sure that in advance manufacturing we got people with the skill sets that they need to fill those positions." Superior Lidgerwood Mundy Corporation has been around for more than 140 years. The privately owned family business makes hoists, capstones and winches for military, commercial, shipping and food service industries. Walker did talk a little bit about elections. He says if he is re–elected his goal is to lower property taxes and make good investments in local government.
