Iron Range Man Sentenced for Hermantown to Duluth Chase

DULUTH - An Iron Range man has his sentence for stealing a car and leading police on a nine mile chase in Hermantown last fall.
Fifty–one year old Timothy Paulsen of Chisholm will have to serve two years of probation and spent four days in the county jail for fleeing police in a motor vehicle and two counts of receiving stolen property.

If he fails to complete his probation, then he faces up to a year in prison.

Hermantown police say Paulsen stole a car in Chisholm and was spotted with it in Hermantown after police used On–Star to find it.

When they tried to pull him over a chase began and eventually ended in Duluth after the car hit a curb and blew out two tires.

Paulsen was arrested after a short stand–off.
