DULUTH - The Boys and Girls Club of the Northland took home some serious cash thanks to an All-Star player's big win.
One of the local kids in the program was paired up with a player who promised to donate $50,000 if he won the home run derby.
The baseball player eneded up winnning and donated the money.
The Boys and Girls Club is putting the grant toward renovating a new space for teens.
"It's great it was an opportunity that came our way without expecting a whole lot out of it. It benefits all of our teens here in Duluth and give a space that is their own," said Todd Johnson, with the Boys and Girls Club of the Northland.
Renovations include a café, a drama area, homework and tutor room, and a music studio.
It should be ready to open in about 12 weeks
