Bikers Throttle Up To Feed Starving Kids
By:
DULUTH- More than 24 volunteers with their bikes took off from the West Duluth Perkins Saturday morning to head out for the second annual Feed My Starving Children benefit.
The bikers rode to Coon Rapids where they met with others and spent the day filling food bags for hungry children across the world.
Last year, more than 190 million meals were produced by the organization.
While it was a beautiful day for a ride volunteers said it's the thought of hungry children that keeps them coming back to help.
One rider said, "we're bagging the food and when all the food is done they bring all the pallets of food out that we've bagged ourselves, and we all get to pray over the food. It's pretty amazing. I'm crying most of the time because it's pretty amazing."
Across the US more than 800 thousand volunteers pack meals for "Feed My Starving Children."
The meals will go to 70 different countries.
