Big Idaho Potato Truck Tour Stops in Hayward

HAYWARD - A Sawyer County agency serving seniors is getting some help this weekend from a massive potato. The Big Idaho Potato Truck Tour raises awareness and money for different programs throughout the country.

For the next few days, it will be docked in Hayward.

So far, they've brought in pounds of food to local food shelves and $500 to the Senior Resource Center's Meals on Wheels program, which was cut by $30,000 this year.

"To come to Hayward and to help our little town out and our community and to help starvation it's a great thing," Senior Resource Center Outreach Coordinator Linda Hand said.
