Two Charged With Animal Abuse and Neglect

PINE COUNTY - Formal charges have been filed against two people accused of abusing and neglecting nearly 140 animals.

The suspects are Kathleen Doenz, 65, and her mother Gloria Carlson, 86.

They are facing five felony counts, five gross misdemeanor counts and four misdemeanor counts related to the abuse and neglect of the horses, dogs, and other animals located on their properties in Pine County.

The charges come after investigators searched the suspects' properties and seized the animals.

Authorities found them in inhumane conditions with deteriorating health and had to euthanize some of them.
